Views exchange meeting held with UP elections candidates in Nakla-Shottoboyan

Nakla (Sherpur) Correspondent:A views exchange meeting was held with the candidates for the third phase of Union Parishad elections in Nakla upazila of Sherpur district on Thursday noon.

The meeting was held at upazila parishad auditorium. The meeting was jointly organized by the Nakla upazila administration and upazila election officer.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Mostafizur Rahman presided over the meeting, where Sherpur Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Mominur Rashid was present as the chief guest.

Deputy director (deputy secretary) of local government department Sherpur ATM Ziaul Islam, district election officer Mohammad Shaniyazzaman Talukder, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP Sadar Circle) Hannan Mia, chairman of the upazila parishad and joint secretary of the upazila AL Shah Md Borhan Uddin, mayor of the municipality and joint secretary of upazila AL Hafizur Rahman Liton, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nakla police station Mushfiqur Rahman and others were spoke.

Upazila Secondary Education Officer (USEO) Mohammad Abdur Rashid conducted the program and Upazila election officer Tareq Aziz gave a welcome speech on the program.

The candidates of different UPs presented their views regarding the ongoing elections. Among them are Independent chairman candidate of Baneshwardi UP and science and technology affairs secretary of upazila AL Mazharul Anwar Mohabbat, Independent chairman candidate of Ganapaddi UP and member of upazila AL Amir Hamza, Independent chairman candidate of Urfa UP and relief-social welfare secretary of upazila AL Noore Alam Talukder Bhutto, Awami League nominated chairman candidate of Chandrakona UP Saju Saeed Siddiqui and Independent chairman candidate of Chandrakona UP Kamruzzaman Gendu, reserved female member candidate Mahmuda Begum and Rashida Begum, general member candidate Manohar Milon and Shahriar Tabasumb Rabbi and others were spoke.

Among others, leaders of upazila, union and municipal AL and allied organizations, candidates for the post of UP Chairman, general members, reserved female member candidates and local journalists were present.

It may be mentioned that the third phase of union parishad elections will be held on Sunday, November 28 in Nakla upazilas of Sherpur district.

According to the Upazila Election Office, a total of 138,950 voters will exercise their voting right in their respective centers in 354 booths of 82 centers in the upazila. Of these, 70,567 are female voters and 68,383 are male voters.
